The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), the workplace giving program for State Employees, has established a system for employee donations to the International Disaster Relief Fund of the American Red Cross. The Red Cross is the premier organization in providing immediate emergency support to those in need.
The CVC campaign for 2009 has now closed. Employees may still make donations by one of the following methods at any time during the year.
- Write a Check or Money Order to “Red Cross International Response Fund”
- Mail or hand deliver this check to the CVC office at
CVC – Disaster Relief
Dept. of Human Resource Management
101 North 14th Street - 12th Floor
Richmond VA 23219.
Please indicate if this is for a specific disaster area (such as Haiti or Chile)
or if you intend it to go to the overall International Relief Fund and
indicate your state agency for proper application of your gift to CVC statistics
- Checks will be forwarded directly through the Red Cross Disaster Services for immediate use in areas stricken by disaster.
- Gifts by credit card (MasterCard, American Express, Visa, or Discover) can be made clicking on http://american.redcross.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ntld_main&s_src=RSG000000000&s_subsrc=RCO_Donate_OnlineGiving and you can click on the Haiti Relief Fund, The Chili Relief Fund, or you may choose another option. Please retain a copy of your gift acknowledgement for crediting your agency’s total giving for the 2010 campaign.
Keep a copy of your check or credit card gift acknowledgement for tax purposes. As in previous disaster campaigns, your gift will be recorded as a Direct Campaign for CVC purposes. CVC will operate special fund drives in the future as the need for extreme disaster relief arises.
